February 2, 2012
Larry Pepe’s Pro MMA Radio will be broadcast on the American Forces Network on its main channel, The Voice, every Saturday at 5PM PST starting on February 11, 2012. The one-hour program will be the exclusive radio show on AFN covering the fastest growing sport in the world, mixed martial arts, complete with fighter interviews, industry news, event previews, recaps, analysis and more.
AFN Director Jef Reilly feels that Pepe’s show is a perfect fit for the network. “AFN is thrilled to have Larry and his Pro MMA Radio on board supplying our heroes overseas weekly information on everything MMA. MMA is wildly popular with our troops and we thank Pro MMA for its support of our valued and respected service-members.” For Pepe, the decision to be a part of AFN’s programming was an easy one. “I know that the servicemen and women of our armed forces are passionate about MMA…that’s something we share. The opportunity to provide a fast-paced, fun, informative MMA show to our heroes stationed in 178 countries around the world is an absolute honor.”
Since 1942, The American Forces Radio & Television Service (AFN) vision is to provide multi-channel broadcast quality radio and television services to all DoD members and their families stationed overseas, on contingency operations, and onboard Navy ships around the world. Today, AFN provides multiple television and stereo audio services to over 1,000 outlets in more than 178 countries and U.S. territories, and on board 150 U.S. Navy ships.
