UFC Fight Night 18, the Dana White/Loretta Hunt controversy, the debut of TUF Season 9, WEC 40 and this weekend’s Strikeforce all got the expert roundtable treatment on this week’s Pro MMA Radio. Pep was joined by Jesse Holland of MMA Mania and Percy Crawford of FightHype to break it all down and witness the show’s first crowning of “Jackass of the Year”, and it’s a surprise.

In the final segment, ESPN’s MMA Live host, Jon Anik, joined Pep to talk about the new Bellator Fighting Championships and what we can expect going forward. Jon is joined by Jason Chambers to form the English speaking broadcast team for Bellator which will be airing weekly cards for the next 12 weeks at Bellator.com.

Ed Soares came in and gave us the lowdown on his stable of fighters, Anderson Silva, Antonio Nogueira, Lyoto Machida and Paulo Filho in his first radio interview after Anderson’s dominant performance at UFC Fight Night 14. Would Anderson take a fight with 205 champ, Forrest Griffin? Will he continue at 205? Could he ever fight at heavyweight? The answers may surprise you. Was Nogueira disrespected by Randy’s refusal to fight him? How did he get along with Mir while they filmed the new season of The Ultimate Fighter? Brandon Vera told “The Truth” about his fight with Fabricio Werdum and what really want on between him and ref Dan Miragliotta during the fight and with Fabricio afterward. We also got into his first cut to 205, his opponent Reese Andy, fighting in the Philippines, his future plans and weight classes and his predictions for Sylvia/Fedor and Mir/Nogueira.

Kevin Burns stopped by days out from his upcoming battle with Anthony Johnson and revealed a very surprising game plan for the fight, how the Carneiro fight changed his life, balancing a full time job with being a pro MMA fighter and more. And FightHype’s Percy Crawford started us off with a great preview of Affliction: Banned and a discussion of whether the card has been properly promoted.

UFC’s Brandon Vera and Kevin Burns Headline Pro MMA Radio, Monday, July 14th

This week we welcome Brandon “The Truth” Vera just days before his UFC debut at 205 this weekend at UFC Fight Night 14. Brandon comes off a controversial loss to Fabricio Werdum that left him fuming and wanting back in the Octagon as soon as possible.

Also on the show this week is the holder of the biggest upset in the UFC this year, welterweight Kevin Burns. “The Fire” debuted at UFC 85 against overwhelming favorite Roan Carneiro, a BJJ black belt from American Top Team. Kevin shocked the world by submitting Roan in the second round and now faces KO artist Anthony Johnson this weekend. AJ was here on Pro MMA last week, and now it’s Kevin’s turn.

And in the Opening Round, FightHype’s main man, Percy Crawford comes in to break down the loaded Affliction card going head to head with the UFC event on the 19th.

UFC veteran and Elite XC #1 Middleweight Title Contender Scott Smith joins us for the next episode of Pro MMA Radio.
